Special Guest To Be Announced SPEAKERS: Peter Bibring, Director of Police Practices/Senior Staff Attorney, ACLU of Southern California discusses the California law and technical aspects of decertification. Julia Yoo, President of the National Police Accountability Project and civil rights attorney of Yoo & Iredale will provide an overview of the Bane Act and speak to technical flaws in the law that result in the routine violation of Californian's civil rights. Julia is a current Consumer Attorneys of California Board Member.
Cephus “Uncle Bobby” X, Executive Officer, Families United 4 Justice Network. Uncle Bobby, whose nephew, Oscar Grant, was killed by police in 2009, will speak to the impact of police violence on the families of those who have been killed by police.
Carl Douglas is a prominent civil rights attorney with Douglas Hicks and will speak to additional real cases in California which explicitly expose the need for reform. Carl is a current Consumer Attorneys of California Board Member.
