Thu, September 25, 2025
12:00 PM - 2:00 PM PT

The webinar link will be emailed to you once you RSVP; please allow time for processing.
We will explore the reasons for filing a Petition for Approval of Compromise of Claim for a minor or person with disability and the appropriate deadlines. This includes preparation of the forms and documents needed for filing, understanding the distinctions between expedited and non-expedited filings (possible confidential filing), and where to file in the various courts and the idiosyncrasies or things to avoid (or do) depending on where you are filing. When to submit the proposed order and, if necessary, open a blocked account. Learn the key differences between settlement trusts, special needs trusts and annuities. What to consider when exploring your options – is your client receiving any benefits, their age and their future care. Learn what it means to structure a settlement, price out a life care plan, get an age rating, the meaning of A+ and A++ insurance companies, and much, much more. Discuss why settlement funds should be structured, the best type of structures and at what point during the work-up of your case should you consider contacting a “structure person or persons”, a possible need for a Medicare set aside and when to hire a probate attorney.
