Mary E. Alexander, M.P.H., J.D., is the principal of Mary Alexander and Associates in San Francisco. She is a nationally recognized trial lawyer in personal injury and products liability.

In 2012, Ms. Alexander was inducted into the Trial Lawyer Hall of Fame of the California State Bar Litigation Section. She is Past President of American Association for Justice (formerly American Trial Lawyers Association), Consumer Attorneys of California, Roscoe Pound Institute and AAJ Endowment, and is currently President of National Crime Victim Bar Association. She is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and has served on numerous committees for the Judicial Council of California.

Ms. Alexander has been repeatedly named one of the “Top 10 Trial Attorneys” by the San Francisco Chronicle. The California Daily Journal has named her one of the Top 100 Most Influential Lawyers in California as well as one of the Top 50 Women Litigators. She has been named a Northern California Super Lawyer each year since 2006. She was the recipient of CAOC’s Marvin E. Lewis award in 1998, the Trial Lawyer of the Year award by Themis Capital Corporation in 2001 (check date), the Trailblazer award by ATLA’s Minority Caucus in 2002, CAOC’s Edward I. Pollock award in 2004, the Pursuit of Justice Award from ABA's Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section in 2005, and CAOC Women’s Caucus Trial Lawyer of the Year award in 2009. Santa Clara School of Law honored her with a Special Achievement Award in 2003.

Ms. Alexander’s reputation for steadfast commitment to the protection of consumer rights and her outstanding achievements and record of success are well-known throughout the country. Ms. Alexander was one of the leaders of Trial Lawyers Care, the largest pro bono legal services program ever undertaken with over 1,500 families represented.

She obtained her JD and Honorary Doctor of Laws from University of Santa Clara in 1982 and 2003, respectively, and Master of Public Health from U.C. Berkeley in 1975. Prior to her legal career, she was a research scientist in medical toxicology and was director of environmental health at Stanford Research Institute.
