J.G. Preston joined CAOC as press secretary in 2009 after a quarter-century career as a radio and television reporter in Sacramento and Minnesota, including more than 20 years as a contributor to and co-host of a weekly newsmagazine program on Twin Cities Public Television. He also worked in radio as a morning show host and sports play-by-play broadcaster. He is a graduate of Carleton College in Northfield, Minn.
Eric Bailey spent 26 years as a reporter for the Los Angeles Times. He has written extensively about the environment, drug policy and state government. In 2000, he covered the presidential campaign and Florida recount. He was a member of the Times’ Capitol bureau in Sacramento before joining CAOC as communications director in January 2010. He is a graduate of UC Berkeley and has a master’s in journalism from USC.
