A big year: Brown signs six
CAOC-backed civil justice bills





SACRAMENTO – In its best statehouse showing in at least a dozen years, Consumer Attorneys of California saw Gov. Jerry Brown sign six CAOC-backed bills, included a pair of measures addressing the pitfalls of forced arbitration involving workers and elder abuse, a bill that will ensure that doctors don't unwittingly fuel the epidemic of prescription painkiller abuse, legislation eliminating discrimination against non-citizens seeking damages in civil court and a bus safety measure.
