Summary

Being offered to CAOC members compliments of Rockpoint Legal Funding.

The coronavirus has already led to massive layoffs. New claims for unemployment insurance jumped from a seasonally adjusted amount of 211,000 for the week ending March 7th to a whopping 3.3 million for the week ending March 21st. Over the next couple months, unemployment claims are expected to further increase to unprecedented levels of several times that of the claims during the Great Recession of 2008. Between unemployment at record highs and the temporary closure of courts, insurance companies are leveraging this terrible situation to force clients who don't have any other means of survival to settle their cases for less than they are worth and will likely delay the issuance of settlement checks. The demand for financial assistance covering plaintiffs’ basic living expenses and the responsibility of law firms to provide their clients a financial lifeline has become more necessary than ever before. This Webinar will discuss what you need to know about available resources throughout California for financial assistance, food, and more during the Coronavirus pandemic.
