Bob Pack's children, Troy and Alana, were killed by a motorist high on prescription drugs. Pack is sponsoring a ballot measure to crack down on prescription drug abuse by patients and doctors, and to hold doctors accountable for medical negligence. An epidemic of medical mistakes is killing as many as 440,000 Americans a year, making it the nation’s third leading cause of death. Politicians won’t tackle the problem. Help make a difference with the Pack Act on the Nov. 4, 2014 ballot. It helps protect patients in three key ways:

  • Mandate random drug testing of doctors (nearly 1 in 5 suffer substance abuse problems in their lifetimes).
  • Require physicians use the state prescription database to curb “doctor shopping” by drug addicts.
  • Raise the state’s malpractice cap for noneconomic damages to reflect 38 years of inflation.
